My interview goes well, I think.

It’s intimidating, being interviewed by the CEO, Keith, and the VP of Human Capital. But I know them all and have worked with them as project sponsors over the years. I wear one of my favorite suits, a summery pale blue one with a fitted jacket and a blue and white silky shell under it.

I have a lot of examples of ways I’ve demonstrated problem solving, leadership, creativity, and innovation. I know my strengths—interpersonal communication and motivating others. Convincing people to go along with change is a definite test of how to motivate others. The one question I stumble a bit on is when they ask about delegation. I delegate all the time, of course. But coming up with a really strong example of that has me floundering. I recover, though, so I think it worked out.

I’m ready for a big glass of wine after that.

I stop at a wine store on my way home, but as I study the various bottles on the shelves, I pause. My period is still late. It’s now almost a whole month overdue. I haven’t been worried about it because I know I can’t be pregnant. But the idea of drinking a few glasses of wine makes me stop and think.

Maybe I should take a pregnancy test. Just in case.
